My Mom Caught Covid From A COVIDIOT!

Yup. Here we are again talking about Covidiot's. If you read my last post you will know that I had laid out some pretty simple rules people should follow to avoid spreading COVID. Unfortunately, my mom's coworker did not read my last blog post and ended up spreading COVID to my mom and 20 other employees at their workplace.

How did she do that you ask? Well, Miss. Covidiot came into work sick even though she was alerted over the weekend that she was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID. She ate lunch with my mom, didn't wear her mask over her nose, and coughed in her hands before handing out paperwork around the office. Yup. Classic Covidiot.

Lucky for my family, your girl JVD had protocols set in place. When my mom called me from work explaining that Miss. Covidiot came in sick and that they all had to get tested I broke down what the ground rules would be when my mom came home.

1) My mom was to wear a mask entering the house, she was to go upstairs into her bedroom, lock herself in there, and not come out until it was her test day.

2) If she had to leave her room for any reason she had to wear a mask, gloves, and spray down any surfaces she came into contact with.

3) All of her food would be left outside of her door for her to grab to avoid any contact with the rest of the family.

4) She was not allowed to have anyone in her bedroom with her, not even the dog, she was to stay in isolation until we knew what her test results were.

It sounds harsh, but it was the right thing to do because unfortunately my mom received a positive test result for COVID-19.

The rest of the family of course had to get tested and the whole house was put on lockdown for 14 days. I implemented that everyone had to stay in their rooms and wear masks around the house as an extra safety precaution.

It was hella tedious but guess what!? NO ONE ELSE IN THE HOUSE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID!!!!

Your girl JVD saved the entire household from getting COVID-19 by simply following the advice from healthcare professionals and a little thing called common sense.

Mom fortunately only showed mild symptoms in the beginning and is already feeling better. She is allowed out of her room after March 31st which is the end of the 14-day recommended quarantine period.

I've said it before and i'll say it again...COVID IS REAL!!! Please wear your mask, wash your hands and avoid going anywhere when you don't feel well. If you have anyone in your house that could potentially have COVID then follow the steps I have listed above.

You're not a badass by not following the guidelines set by public health. You're just an idiot.
